Jay Flaherty, Chief Investment Officer of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, is retiring after nearly 16 years. Flaherty has spent much of his career working for the $3.7 billion foundation and was named CIO in 2013. The foundation grew by more than $1 billion under his tenure. Princeton Endowment President Andrew Golden to Retire in 2024

Andrew K. Golden, president of the Princeton University Investment Company (PRINCO), will retire from his position on June 30, 2024. Since Golden joined PRINCO in 1995, the endowment has grown tenfold. Princeton’s endowment was valued at $35.8 billion for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022. Its annualized return during Golden’s tenure has been 12.6%. Princeton has engaged recruitment firm David Barrett Partners to search for Golden’s successor over the coming year.

Brandeis University Names Tarek Saghir as Chief Investment Officer

After an external search, Brandeis University has named Tarek Saghir as Chief Investment Officer. Saghir has served as the University’s interim CIO since Nicholas Warren left in March 2022 to become Glenmede’s CIO. As CIO at the University, Saghir will oversee the management of roughly $1.2 billion in assets, as well as a four-person team. Prior to joining Brandeis, Saghir was a Principal at GroveStreet, where he focused on fund investing and co-investing in buyouts, growth equity and venture capital.
