  1. David Ben-Ur appointed CIO of Caxton Alternative Management

    Caxton Alternative Management, the new family office set up by Bruce Kovner, founder and chairman of global macro hedge fund manager Caxton Associates, has hired David Ben-Ur as CIO. Mr. Ben-Ur was for eight years co-CIO of Corbin Capital, which manages $2.7 billion in hedge funds of funds. He will remain a partner of Corbin Capital and a strategic advisor to the firm.

  2. Conning recruits Michael Haylon to lead global product development

    Conning, a leading insurance client asset management firm, has hired Michael Haylon to oversee global product development while managing investment strategies reporting to CIO Richard Sega.   3. Wells Fargo acquires institutional global equity manager

    Wells Fargo will acquire EverKey Global Partners, a boutique global equity institutional manager. EverKey's 11-member staff led by Jeff Everett, former CIO of Templeton Global Advisors, will join Wells' asset management division, expanding the number of investment strategies offered by the firm.

  4. T. Rowe Price hires Peter Austin to head LDI solutions

    Peter Austin, longtime BNY Mellon veteran who was head of pension services, has joined T. Rowe Price as head of its new fixed income solutions group. Austin initially will focus on enhancing T. Rowe Price's liability-driven solutions business for U.S. pension funds. In a statement Mike Gitlin commented: "Our fixed income solutions group will be working with a broad range of institutional clients to provide customized investment programs and will draw upon the resources of the firm. Peter has the experience and capabilities to make our LDI effort a collaborative one for the benefits of our clients."

  5. PIMCO Hires Ravi Mattu as Managing Director and Head of Analytics

    PIMCO, which manages $1.25 trillion, has hired Ravi Mattu to oversee portfolio management analytics as well as client facing analytics globally reporting to Mohamed A. El-Erian, PIMCO's CEO and co-CIO. El-Erian commented: "Having a world-class integrated analytics framework has been key to PIMCO's success, and remains so. Ravi's expertise, experience and leadership skills will enable us to enhance further our capabilities in this important area." Mattu was most recently head of research and strategy for Citadel Securities.

    Stan Zuzic, one of Harvard University's top endowment managers is now at Bill Gates Investments, the firm that manages money for the Gates Foundation, according to a person with knowledge of the move. Jane Mendillo, CEO of Harvard Mangement wrote in an internal memo: " Stan is leaving for an exciting opportunity that promises to be a great fit with his considerable talents."
